Passion for fashion need not cost the earth

A "passion for fashion need not cost the earth" is the principal on which brothers Mart and Rob Drake-Knight build their eco-friendly fashion company "Rapanui". Through surfing the brothers saw and experienced the changing environment and climate at their local beach and as inspired, unemployed graduates in a recession, they took a different path; if you can't find a job, make one.
Since 2008 this UK based company has been making cool eco-friendly collections full of wardrobe essentials made ethically from natural, organic materials with a serious style punch in a Fairwear Foundation audited, wind powered factory. Their women’s collection is about creating super soft, flattering basics- eco fashion essentials across the board that are made to last and outlast seasons. Rob Drake Knight, Co Founder states that “The great thing about using eco-fabrics is that they are naturally softer, more breathable and comfy.”
Designer Martin Drake-Knight states "At Rapanui we want to make it convenient for people to shop quickly, with a conscience. Eco Fashion no longer has to be exclusive or expensive.”  A special 10% discount code "fashionablytied" is extended to "Fashionably Tied" readers. So take a look at their women’s organic clothing and do your bit for nature.
It's impressive that the company have grown from $200 initial investment to the Top 100 Start-ups of 2008 in UK. Rob and Martin are listed on the Future 100 List of Top young Entrepreneurs and were recently finalists in Enterprise UK's Young Brits awards. Rapanui was the youngest company to reach the finals of the Sustainable Business Awards in 2008 and has recently been nominated for the internationally-recognised ISPO Brand New Award. In May Rapanui won the Sustainable Business Awards and are Finalists in the RSPCA Good Business Awards. Rapanui are winners of the 2010 Sustainable Business Awards, Runners up at the 2010 Enterprising Young Brits Awards and finalists at the 2010 RSPCA Good Business Awards. Rob and Mart Drake-Knight are also listed on the Future 100 List of Top Young Ethical Entrepreneurs.
